Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread cookies are a very traditional cookie for Christmas in Norway. What about your country? I'm planning to decorate them soon. If you want some inspiration take a look at my blog friend Maia's decoration. I love THESE!!!

  2. Oh dearest, we too have this tradition! Ours can be crunchy or soft and chewy. FROSTING IS A MUST! I made some last year in the shape of penguins and then frosted them and of course used BLUE and white sugar! Isn't this a fun time of year?

    Enjoy yourself sweet friend! Anita

  8. Oh these are just beautiful! I love gingerbread. Didn't know that they were popular in Norway. I'm married to a Norwegian and it's all about krumkake and fattigman at this time of year in our home :) xoxo

  11. Kristen,
Oh Yes, we love the GINGERBREAD cookie at this time of year. It is also a tradition with us. I love the smell of them just coming fresh out of the oven. Your cookies look delightful, and I have been wanting to get a clear jar like this one.

  12. These are beautiful, Kristin! I have made gingerbread and other cookies each year but our favorites are very thin rolled cookies (crisp) that we decorate with icing. Over the years I have collected an obscene number of cookie cutters but still do not have an Eiffel Tower. Hummmm.... I will have to remedy that before next year!

  13. I haven't made gingerbread cookies in years. My son used to love them when he was little. He's coming home from college this weekend... think I'll roll up the sleeves and make him some! xo

  14. These look wonderful!! I especially like the Gingerbread Lady! I have spent the past two weeks decorating [including painting furniture and walls] for the Christmas House Tour, but now that it is over I can start my baking. Our nephew comes tonight for 3 nights, and this looks like a good family project, n'est-ce pas?
